Postdoctoral positions in the area of interfacial science and nanomechanics
We are looking for a talented, creative, and highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to study surface forces and adhesion in liquid environments. More specifically, we are working to control adhesion dynamically (via the application of external fields) and spatially (by changing topography and/or surface chemistry). Successful candidates will have a strong background in nanomechanics, thin film preparation, and material characterization. Candidates must hold a PhD in Engineering, Physics or related fields with a focus on wetting, nanomechanics, or surface engineering. Previous experience in the measurement of surface forces is a plus, as is experience in microfabrication.
This postdoctoral position in available immediately, will be renewable on an annual basis, and is anticipated for at least two years. Preference will be given to recent Ph.D. graduates who are currently in the US and have a record of quality publication.
Please check out our website for details on our research group. Interested candidates can apply by email by sending a cover letter, CV with a complete list of publications, and contact information for three references to Prof. Joelle Frechette ( jfrechette@berkeley.edu). The position is open until it is filled.

Undergraduate Positions
The Frechette lab is looking for one or two highly motivated, independent undergraduates to conduct theoretical or experimental research (see Research for more details). All interested undergraduate students may find a complete listing of available projects and contacts here labeled “Chemical Engineering – Frechette Lab”. We regularly post available projects.
